Common Questions on our Minecraft Server:
Q: What kind of server is this?
A: It is a survival mode server with PvP (player vs. player) enabled.
Q: Can I teleport?
A: No.
Q: Can I fly?
A: No.
Q: Why isn't bedspawn working? Why can't I set /home?
A: As of June 2012, bedspawn is disabled, to prevent PvP exploitation. If you die, you will return to the main spawn town, even if you have Towny.
Q: Can I be a Minecraft admin? Can I have op?
A: Do not request for admin/moderator privileges. We appreciate genuine commitment to the community, but please do not bluntly ask for privileges. The selection process is confidential and discrete.
Q: Can I have creative mode?
A: No.
Q: Can I use x-ray or this cheat/hack/mod I have?
A: No. But thank you for asking. We will NOT tolerate any cheats that give players an unfair advantage over those who want to play the game normally.
Q: I have updated Minecraft, but you have not updated the Minecraft server. When will you update the server?
A: In some cases, we will have to maintain an outdated version on our server (e.g. if we are waiting for certain plugins to update). Spoutcraft is a great way to bypass this. Please visit this thread regarding how to connect to a technically outdated server.
Q: Where can I build?
A: You may build anywhere in the server - anywhere except in spawn, in a protected area, or in someone else's property. You also should NOT build in the regeneration zone outside of spawn.
Q: What is the "regen zone?"
A: The regeneration zone is an area outside of spawn that routinely gets reset. So if you build a house there, it will disappear by the next day. PvP is also disabled in the regen zone and the center spawn.
Q: Can I find diamonds in the regen zone?
A: No, you cannot. This prevents exploitation.
Q: How do I protect chests?
A: Type "/cprivate" in chat and hit the object or chest you want to protect. Be aware of how many chests and items you are protecting with lwc.
Q: How do I track my current balance/money/income?
A: Type "/money" in chat. If you are using a Towny protection and want to see the money on your town's bank, type "/town" in chat.
Q: How much money do I need to start a town? How does Towny work?
A: $250 on the first claim. It costs an additional $50 per every additional chunk you wish to add. A town runs on a daily upkeep of $2 per chunk. See this page for more info.
Q: How can I make money?
A: The main means of making money is by selling items in the Minecraft world that have sell value. Diamonds, gold, iron, and coal are frequently pursued and sold items in the iConomy. See this page for more info.
Q: How do I use the shop? How do I buy and sell stuff?
A: In chat, type "/shop [buy/sell] [item name or ID] [amount]." See this page for more info.
Q: Why is my house gone?
A: You may have built in the regeneration zone outside of spawn or you may have not set up a Towny protection on your home. Towny is a secure measure of preventing players from destroying your property.
Q: Why are my protections gone?
A: You may have been offline from our server for a few weeks. After a certain time period, your lwc protections get unlocked. Your Towny's balance also continues to get deducted even while you're offline. So check back periodically on the server if you want your property to remain safe.
Q: Is swearing legal or illegal? Can I swear?
A: Profanity and mild swears are okay, but spam and derogatory terms (i.e. name slurs or labels that connote a specific group in a potentially offensive way) are not allowed. Please try to be courteous in this environment, for the Weekdayz Community maintains a large age range and a large diversity of players.
Q: What's combat-logging?
A: Combat-logging is a term used to describe players who log out during a PvP or combat situation to prevent themselves from getting killed.
Q: Is combat-logging legal or illegal?
A: While combat-logging is frowned upon by many and can be seen as an act of cowardice, it is not against the rules. If a combat-logging situation becomes an issue that an admin must investigate, the harassment rule of our Minecraft policies may be taken into account.
Q: Can I advertise my own Minecraft server?
A: No. If you must redirect some friends to another server for whatever reason, send them a private message.
Q: How do I contact an admin?
A: We have an entire list of our admins and mods here. Contact an admin or a mod when a problem arises. If you are unable to send a private message to any of the admins, you may post a thread on the forums to alert us of the situation. If you have Mumble, you may be able to find an admin on there as well.
Q: My friend was banned. How can he/she protest his/her ban?
A: Players who have been banned from our Minecraft server are listed here. Minecraft ban appeals must be made in this section. We take all discussions regarding bans with utmost discretion.
