We've got an annual solar eclipse coming up in a few days. This Sunday, May 20, the eclipse will be visible mostly for those on the western coast of the United States and Canada and the eastern coast of Asia (I suppose making that May 21 for the folks on the Eastern Hemisphere). For those in the Western Hemisphere, the eclipse should be at its peak in the afternoon, Pacific time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_eclipse_of_May_20,_2012 http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/sunearth/news/eclipse-2012.html http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/17/solar-eclipse-2012-where-when-ring-of-fire_n_1524365.html Don't forget to wear proper eyewear!
I've been looking forward to this solar eclipse for so many years. The last one I recall witnessing was way back in 2004 or 2005, and that was when I was indoors. So this'll be my first time actually seeing one.
If it was lunar the thread would have said "lunar eclipse" instead of solar. The adjective describing the eclipse is the subject that is being blocked, not the object that is obstructing.
Meh. Never really been interested in solar eclipses. When shit aligns the world usually ends and that is not good.
I hate it when the world ends. I could be sitting on the toilet then BAM. The fucking world ends. Worst of all, no toilet paper.
Really, it's more of the Southwestern coast. We up in Washington get only a partial eclipse. Oh, and I love that gif.
I was in Western Washington for the weekend, and there was NOTHING. Not even a partial eclipse. Everyone was waiting, and to sum it all up, we wasted a couple hours of our lives frying our eyes.
